How it works

A quick chat on WhatsApp, then PlayGlu learns how you like to play and brings the games to you.

Start here

Tell PlayGlu about you

A quick WhatsApp chat about where you play, your level, whether you're competitive, social or happy either way, and when you're usually free (mornings, evenings, weekends).

Want a game?

  1. Tell PlayGlu the day and time.
  2. It finds three players who suit you.
  3. Once all four are in, you book the court on your usual app, like Playtomic or Padelmates, and send PlayGlu the link.
  4. PlayGlu passes it on, and you play.

Happy to be invited?

Started by two players

Gareth and Nicolette started PlayGlu after Nicolette couldn't find players to join her for daytime games.

You'll know that feeling. You're free, but finding three others who fit is the hard part. Evening players have the same problem, just at a different time.

PlayGlu fits around you, not the other way round.

Questions

Trust and cost

Is it free?

Yes, PlayGlu is completely free. You just pay your share of the court as usual.

Is it run by Padel Padel?

No. PlayGlu is independent, started by a local couple who play at the club. Padel Padel is supporting the beta because more good games are good for everyone.

What happens to my number and details?

We only use them to find you games. We never share or sell them, and you can ask us to delete them any time.

How do you make sure games are good?

While we're in beta, every game is reviewed before it's confirmed, so we learn what makes a great four.

The game

Who will I be playing with?

Players who suit you, not just your level. PlayGlu looks at how you like to play, competitive or social, and when you're free. Every game and every bit of feedback teaches it more about what you enjoy, so tell PlayGlu how it went and your next match gets even better. And the more players join, the better the matches get for everyone.

Who books and pays for the court?

The person who asked for the game books it on their usual app, like Playtomic or Padelmates, and sends the link to PlayGlu, which passes it on. Everyone then pays their own share through the app's split payment.

What if someone drops out?

PlayGlu offers the spot to the next player on the waiting list, so the game still goes ahead.

What if someone says yes but doesn't pay?

PlayGlu offers the spot to the next player on the waiting list, so your game still goes ahead.

Fitting around you

Do I have to say yes? Is it awkward to say no?

Not at all. Say no as often as you like. Your answer goes to PlayGlu, not to another player, so nobody takes it personally.

How many messages will I get?

No more than three invites a week, and never more than one every 48 hours. Want more or fewer? Just message PlayGlu and it'll change it for you.

Can I bring my own friends?

Yes. Tell PlayGlu you've got one or two players, and it'll find the rest.

What if no games come up at my times?

We're still growing, so some times fill faster than others. Every player who joins means more games for everyone, which is why introductions matter.

Getting in

Why invite only, and how do I get in?

We're keeping the beta small so every game is a good one. If you play at Padel Padel, ask a PlayGlu player to introduce you. Not at Padel Padel?

We'll let you know when we come to your club.

Closed beta

Good games, kept small.
